Hey, y'all.

I live up in Huntsville. Here our meat choices are HEB, Kroger, or Tallent's - and Tallent's doesn't do lamb.

HEB & Kroger have chops, ribs, but none of the cuts that I could really use for Fårikål (Norwegian Lamb & Cabbage Stew). My mother, a Norwegian immigrant, used to make that. It's a traditional Norwegian thing, I guess. She passed in 1992 long before I grew interested in cooking.

Now I like to cook on a weekend and would like to prepare this meal for myself but I cannot find the cuts of lamb the recipe calls for:

2 kg / 4 ½ lbs lamb meat, cut into large pieces (neck, shoulder, shank)

I figure that given the immigrant population in Houston there's sure to be a Halal or a Kosher shop where I can get good lamb cuts at a reasonable price.

So, please, if you know of one, let me know! I'd sure appreciate it!
