I am 19F and I live with my grandmother in Houston. I’ve been living here with my grandmother since 2020 after I lost my parents to covid.

I have autism and also I’m also color blind. Growing up, I had a hard time using the traffic lights around my town.

My mom got me a pair of enchroma glasses In 2015 and it made a huge difference. It’s not as awesome as the YouTube videos portray it, but at least I had no problems with using the traffic lights anymore.

Sadly I fell and broke my glasses while walking down the stairs last week. Once again, using the traffic lights is now a pretty tough task.

My grandmother is a retired teacher and we’re kinda poor, but she does what she can to support me. She already gave me some of the money for the glasses but I’m still a little short. I still need $55.

We live on a pretty small budget, so I might have to wait for a while (maybe a few months) before she’d be able to come up with that amount.

And truth is, my glasses are pretty important to me. Dealing with autism and color blindness makes it really hard for me to use the traffic lights. I endanger my life every time I cross a busy road and I feel like every crossing could be my last and that really does scare me.

I’m pretty much asking for some support here to save me from all the danger and anxiety. I’m not sure what else to do.

I’d be glad if anyone could help out with the extra money I need for the glasses. If that happens, I’ll update the post and let everyone know I got the help I need.
