I don't see my neighbors closing their pools and my pool doesn't even have a way to put a cover over it.

So do people do anything to close their pools here or just set the heater to a low temperature so it doesn't freeze?

I just bought tacos and donuts from an Asian family and then went to a gas station run by a Pakistani man. The city employee that installed my municipality fiber internet was Hispanic. I have honestly never seen a non white public works employee in Connecticut.

My neighborhood has actual children of all races playing together. I have 3 black families living on my street. I've only seen this in commercials before moving to Texas.

Anyone from Texas is like yeah? What's the big deal? Well I lived most of my life in Connecticut where my son ( he's half black) was the diversity kid at his school. They actually started bussing in black kids from different cities because of a recent state diversity policy. Connecticut still has legal segregation. It's weird to see minority families outside of the major cities.

r/Connecticut is the type of place where they talk about how poorly minorities are treated in America and then freak out when a black person moves to their neighborhood.

I actually lived in San Antonio back in 2005-2006 but that was (Army) on base and didn't get to explore Texas as much as I would like.

Sorry for the rant but man I love finally living in America.
