I'm trying to get some volunteer hours for school. I saw volunteerhou and signed up for a couple events, but I'm wondering if it is legit or not. Some of the events don't have contact information of an address to go to. An example I saw was "Dog Volunteers" by "Friends For Life Animal Shelter," which doesn't have contact or address info. (I did look them up, and they are a real shelter) But it's weird how there's not that much information for events on the signup.

Another weird example is "book sorting" for Books for Development, but I go to their website and it says that they're not accepting volunteers??? I just think that's sus.

I want to volunteer somewhere, but I don't know where to look for opportunities. I don't want to deal with tutoring or children, so if you know elsewhere where I can help, I would be interested.
