I ask because I recently came upon a reddit thread saying there are a cult and they took money from their cult to form their business:

1. What exactly was The Dhanani Group’s role in the Bappawalla cult? Anybody partake in it? : ismailis (reddit.com)
2. I was in some new Ismaili branch cult referenced as “class”. Need help. : ismailis (reddit.com)

These comments here they left me wanting to know more about them.

2014: Shoukat Dhanani (Burger King) and Ali Dhanani (Wendy) illegally cut trees in the city right-of-way at their restaurant locations.

2015: Amin Dhanani president of Z&H Foods, Inc. (has some horrible Google reviews for the company) made the news when at one of his Popeyes location an employee was fired after being robbed.

Jan to May 2017: Shoukat Dhanani received $250,000 fine for 843 violations of child labor laws at the franchise’s locations in Massachusetts.

2018: Shoukat Dhanani was also involved in the Alderman Ed Burke’s corruption case when he made a $10,000 campaign donation (state limit for individual donations is $5,600)

Yeah I’ve heard of this class. There was this dude whose last name was Dhanani (idk his first name) and he would claim that Imam Ali gave him vision.the guy was a complete fraud and stole everyone ‘s dasond money for years. His family now owns 824 restaurants. IMO they are complete piece of trash that preyed on innocent Ismailis. After this did who claimed to have visions of Imam Ali died he didn’t appoint a successor and his whole cult ended. Now those people who left for his cult only are Ismailis for the social benefits and have been exploiting the system for years. It’s a super day story.
