Read MoreI’m in the process of purchasing a home and I was offered a regular non-hurricane,wind and hail insurance. Then for wind, hail and hurricanes there is a separate TWIA insurance.
I’ve shopped around and it seems this TWIA plus non-wind and hail insurance is way way cheaper.
Any disadvantages with using TWIA? Its a state-run program, so, I’m not sure if there will be a huge hassle for getting a claim processed and paid.

Looking to go to the islands for New Years and the week after and Houstonians seem to brag about the airport having so many destinations, but, for some reason on Google Flights I cant seem to find anything that is direct to Caribbean islands. Am I missing something? Do you guys know of a comprehensive list of non-stop flights? See image. I did the Google Flights “explore” option and said “NONSTOP ONLY”, and almost every island getaway seems greyed out. Puerto Rico and Havana are not exactly what I’m looking for. Looking for much quieter overwater bungalow type getaway. PS: Roatan seems like a nice island getaway, but, its over a grand per person for the dates im looking for! ​ submitted by /u/OducksFTW |
