I desperately need advice from people who actually live here, because Google is not on my side.

Im allergic to mosquitos, well, actually since moving here from Oregon I have found out that I am allergic to most things here but I digress.

I have tried all the deet/deet free sprays and yet still (and currently) my body is so covered in swollen, red lumpy bruises that it looks like I put up a pretty good fight... but continue to lose. I even tried immunotherapy for the allergens but since I am on a biologic, and reacted poorly, I had to stop.

Look, I don't have super high expectations here. I know a certain level of discomfort, dare I say even misery is to be expected living in this humid swamp. But I have an autoimmune disease, am already stuck either inside or in bed probably 75% of the time anyways... I would just really like to be able to fucking go outside once in a while and just lessen the bites a bit.

Does anything actually work...

As a body spray repellent?

To keep a larger percentage of them from getting in when you try your best to ninja open&close your doors?

For a tiny backyard that I may want to visit for a few minutes? It's ugly, with no privacy and I don't have thr money to fix it up or get anything too expensive, but dammit sometimes it's my only access to 'outside' and I need that so badly.

This is my desperate attempt to see if anyone is aware of any low-income/disability/cheap rent apartment that are available. It would be myself and two cats, needning to get away from abusive husband before legal aid can help me proceed. Hell, I'd live in a garage or motorhome at this point.

Longshut, but I thought I'd ask

Hi all, I recently was gifted an antique ring that probably has way more sentimental value that monetary value, but it would still mean a lot to me to be able to repair it. I know nothing about jewelry but it at least needs a deeeeeeep clean and a new band. I don't have a lot of money but I also don't want to do a s**t job or have it broken so I was wondering if you all have any recommendations for jewelry repair places. Obviously if I can't afford it done right I will just wait and save up for it. Thanks
