Are others using AT&T plans experience slow network?

I use the $40 AT&T prepaid plan. I started driving like 2 days ago and on the freeways my navigation apps are either very slow (to update my location and tell me the turns) or just don’t work at all. I reached out to AT&T and they said a few towers are in maintenance and will be fixed by 10/08. Anyone else on AT&T experience anything similar? Any advice on getting better network speed?

GPS Navigation on Houston Freeways: Need Urgent Advice

Hello, this is a bit of a technical/apple support question too but it’s highly related to Houston so bear with me.

I just got my first car (new driver) and used it today to go to a place around 13 miles from where I live. I have zero knowledge of Houston roads, so I relied on Apple maps on my Iphone. Unfortunately, as I got farther from where I live, location accuracy and speed got worse and worse, and when coming back, I got lost for like an hour or two due to the navigation app not showing where I was. (I tried google maps too). My cellular data, wifi and bluetooth was on and I’m on an At&t prepaid plan. I found my way back somehow (by memorizing which exits to take on a short period where navigation worked) and navigation started working magically as I got closer to where I live.

Questions: Do you lose network connection/location data on freeways? What can I do for this to not happen again? Will TomTom’s or similar that are sold on Amazon work better? Any other advice you can give me? Thanks!

Auto Insurance Help

Hello, is $209 a month a good rate for a 20 year old male, no prior driving history, no Texas driver’s license (have an intl one), and no prior auto insurance? Online websites quoted me $300 or up to $400 and this was the best rate I could get via phone. Just want to make sure I’m not getting screwed more than necessary. First month will be $338, the rest 209 for five months. They said monthly amount can go down to 140-160 in six months if I establish history with no accidents. I have no parents in this state to cosign with a plan so that’s out of question.

Help buying a car for college student

I’m looking to buy a used car, pay under $10k (preferably <$6k, but I’ve been told that at that mark the cars are 100% problematic), without getting scammed and without huge costs popping up after purchase.

Can you tell me a good way/place to do this in Houston? I’m a student and need a car to drop Uber costs and to get me from point A to point B, as safely and cheaply as possible. Appreciate any help!

edit: will pay cash, no loans, etc.
