DUSTY BAKER APPRECIATION THREAD

I hadn’t seen this posted so I apologize if this is a repost.

To me, more than the in-game decision making, a manager’s most important job is leading the clubhouse through adversity. From the moment he took the job, the Astros have faced more scrutiny, adversity, and down right hate than any other ballclub that I can think of. Every away series this season was a marked event for the opposing team’s fans. Just this season, teams with tremendous talent folded under much less pressure (looking towards the city of New York). Through it all, the Astros remained consistently focused, and Dusty deserves a hell of a lot of credit for that. So here’s to Dusty Baker, manager for the 2021 AL Pennant winning Houston Astros! Now there’s only one thing left to do…

Chris Bassitt Calls Astros "Guinea Pig" Regarding Sign-Stealing

Climbing Tal’s Hill with the article about the new interview with Bassitt.

“Bassitt mentioned that the reason not a lot of players and teams were speaking out at the time was because they were conducting similar methods of cheating. The right-hander also said that MLB knew about sign-stealing in baseball and elected to keep quiet about it.”

This goes further in saying that, not only were other teams cheating too, but doing so in a similar manner.

I tried posting it to r/baseball but it kept getting deleted for being too similar to other posts. Funny because all of the AsTrOs aRe aLl ChEaTeRs posts never seem to be subjected to the same rule.
