Hello all!

I’m a born and raised New Yorker and as mentioned in the title am awaiting a potential job offer that (if accepted) would have me living/working full time in Houston by December. In my feverish research of your city, one thing that is clear is how necessary a car is. That being said, are there any neighborhoods worth looking into that are considerably more walkable than the others? There seems to be some areas with large pockets of things to do. Also, what are the best areas for utilizing the public transport? Thanks!
