I recently got a job in Houston. I'm from a small town so the place seems too big to research to me. There are all this little places around it like Sugarland, Richmond, Rosenberg, Cypress, Fulshear, Katy, etc.

Which one of those places is likely to be a safe place and have cheap rent? My budget it $600 per month and I'd like my own room whether it's a 1 bedroom or 2 bedrooms
