I just left for a weekend trip to Oregon (family emergency - I'm not leisurely traveling during a pandemic) and I'm seeing news about a possible hurricane hitting. I'm somewhat new to Houston, so I am still figuring out how to handle hurricanes/tropical storms/tropical depressions and all that.

My neighbors son, he's 14, is watching my dog. While I trust him to feed and walk her, I'm not sure what they'd do in an hurricane. I can't expect him, or his mom to worry about my dog in a situation like that.

My flight lands at IAH on Monday at 4:30pm. Based on current information, would I have time to get home before anything substantial hits? What should I do if I'm delayed? My thought is to have them let my dog out in the apartment. We have a 2 story so she would be able to hang out upstairs.

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.
