Garage Condos
I’m looking for a new place to live. I’m single, middle aged, and my kids are grown, so it’s just me, my doggos, and my small collection of exotic cars and motorcycles. That said, I don’t fit the typical single family dwelling, they typically max out at 3 car garages. I need a place to sleep, sit, and shower, not much more. I don’t want the matching huge house to go with a huge garage.
What options do I have? I inquired with GarageUltimate in Friendswood. They explained that the HOA doesn’t allow people living in their garage condos. If it’s not a “home”, I guess they meant POA? They start at $160k for a sweet garage and an upstairs loft, so it would have been ideal.
The Build-On-Your-Lot communities I’m aware of use exclusive builders. Is there a neighborhood I don’t yet know about where I can choose my own builder and my own blueprints? I prefer to stay south of I-10, I work near Manvel.
