Read MoreI’m heartbroken saying this, but a woman that I can’t find enough adjectives to describe passed away on Monday.
Berta Urteaga was a long time member of The Leage of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) for over 60 years. I had the pleasure of knowing her during my tenure in the organization and I can honestly say that there are few people on this earth who cared for the younger generation more than she did. She had a hand in sending thousands of Houston’s underserved to college, and when they got to college, she made sure to keep them there even if it meant opening her own checkbook to do so. She was the first female president of one of the oldest LULAC council’s in Houston (60) as well as a National board member. She was also an amazing friend.
I wish I could find words to better describe just how much impact she had on the city, and my family. She will be sorely missed.

I was changing into the left lane to enter 290 after Barker Cypress and someone (who was in the middle/right lane) decided I wasn’t driving fast enough (even though I was driving 57 in a 55) and went across 3 *edit* 2 lanes of lanes of traffic to go around me when I was already 3/4 in the left lane. They nailed my mirror and scuffed the side of my truck and drove off. Luckily I have a front/back dashcam and got a clear view of the license plate.
I’m uploading the video so I can show you but it takes forever to transfer to my phone. What exactly should I do with this? Can you file a police report and submit video proof? I don’t think I’ll be filing with my insurance since a replacement mirror is less than my deductible.

I’m taking my wife out for her birthday and I don’t have the opportunity to get a sitter for the kids so I’m bring them with us. I’m thinking either Del Friscos, or possibly Brenner’s (although I feel like I remember reading they didn’t want kids there)
The kids are very well behaved if that matters.
Also, I’m sure you have a suggestion for a better steak house in Houston, feel free to make a suggestion!

My wife’s birthday is next week and I’d like to send her to the spa for the day, but I’d like for it to be kind of a one stop shop place where she can get a massage, nails, hair and makeup. Anyone have any suggestions?

Long story short, someone rear ended me and it destroyed my license plate so I ordered a new vanity plate. I have to pick it up at the Tax assessors office but they said they’re going to be renewing my registration. If they’re renewing my registration, does that mean I need to have already had my truck inspected? I only have 2 months left on the sticker so it’s not a big deal, but if I don’t need to do it now I’ll wait.
Thanks!
