Kitchen and bathroom work

I’m moving into a new construction home next week in houston (from another state). I was looking to get my kitchen cabinets painted a different color. And in the bathroom instead of tower/tub combo im looking to get separated shower and tub.

Looking to get any good recommendations. I looked on yelp, not sure how yelp works but I sent my request to one company and other companies replied back. I was in touch with Gonzalez plumbing and tile services. But they don’t have an actual office and was saying to meet at Starbucks and put down $100 deposit on Zelle. Seemed sketchy but I don’t know.

Please let me know.

Thanks

Lake houston access

Hi there. I am new to the area. From out of state and will be buying a home in the summerwood area (will be completed in February) and let me first say, I came out here this weekend to make sure it was a good area and I was not disappointed. The summerwood/atascocita area is nice. I think I will love it here.

But I had a question. I Googled and could not find anything and drove around. I can’t seem to find where to access lake houston. I see there are homes that are near me who have a lake view and access but is it open to the public? If so, how do I get to it?

Thanks

Suburbs

Hi, I wanted to ask about a few areas im looking to buy home. Im from out of state, although been to Houston i don’t know about porter, or magnolia texas.

Give me the details like school (although I have no kids and single but plan to), crime, stores, mall etc. Are they up and coming?

FYI I prefer to live in the suburbs, and its cheaper which is great. But plan on getting a usda loan which means I’ll be in the sticks. Lastly, how diverse? I don’t want to be the only black person out there.

Thanks

New home buyer (from los angeles)

Hey, im new to reddit (new to posting at least) and going to be new to Houston soon.

I was looking to get a real estate agent and with so many listed when I google, I was trying to see if anyone has any recommendations.

I’m a new home buyer, so have no idea how to do anything really, just need someone knowledgeable and trustworthy to help me through the process and learn the ins and outs.

If it matters I’m single male, 37 years old, work as a nurse and looking for new construction homes (I want to be the first one to live in the home lol) in about the $150,000-250,000 range.

Thanks in advance.
