Where to dispose of a portable air conditioner?
I have a portable air conditioner (not a window unit–it’s like this R2D2-looking thing that you can move around on wheels in your apartment) and it’s too loud, so I’d like to dispose of it. Houston’s Junk Waste program says it won’t take it if the refrigerant is still in the unit. I don’t know how to disassemble the unit. I called a nearby A/C repair place and they didn’t want fix it or take it. What should I do?
