Hello everyone! Looking for advice. It's a long story so please bear with me as I give the details necessary.

My husband and I decided to add solar panels to our new home, two companies came to speak with us. Company A talked to us first and gave us a decent rate we said we'd think about it, a short time later Company B stopped by and gave us a better rate and nicer looking solar panel option. We talked it over and decided on Company B however when Company A checked in on us and we told them we were going with the other company they (Company A) gave us a rate that couldn't be beaten.

My husband told company B we wanted to cancel the installation and a worker told us we would be charged $2,500 for canceling and the survey. In the contract it states we have a right to cancel up to three days AFTER installation without penalty. The salesman also verbally stated so. We are being told two different stories and now we are told if we do not pay a lein will be put on our house.

Is this possible? What should we do?

Edit: thank you to everyone who commented. We'll definitely look into getting a lawyer.
