I have a couple of small EE savings bonds that I need to cash. Are there any banks in town that will redeem them if you don’t have an account open with them? I only have accounts with USAA, which doesn’t have any branches in Houston. Chase used to do it, but apparently they recently stopped. It’s getting pretty rare for banks to do it unless you’ve got an account open with them, but maybe someone here’s had some luck. I’d rather go this route than take the longer TreasuryDirect option if it’s possible. Thanks!

They’re back, now in an even more obnoxious bright red color. I see these things pop up on every sign and light pole in my neighborhood every few months. It’s obviously some kind of scam, but how exactly does it work? Has anyone ever tried calling the number?

Question for anyone going to the POST grand opening today. Would I need to have RSVP’d online first to be able to get in, or is it free for anyone to just walk up? Not interested in paying a hundred bucks for the VIP stuff. Thanks!

I’m near the Galleria and the tap water has a nasty fishy taste. It’s that same weirdness that it had right after the freeze last month. Anyone else?
