I have rarely ever felt afraid living in Houston but the recent uptick in crimes have me a little spooked, so I put my drivers’ license in my pocket when I went out for a walk yesterday evening.

What do you worry about? Car break-ins, home burglary, Covid-19, scammers, traffic accidents, assault, etc.

My partner and I had planned to travel to New England this season but are staying home now. We haven’t decided whether or not to cook or order out, since it’s just the two of us. I wanted to see what everyone else was planning? Maybe talk about:

• Restaurants that are doing Thanksgiving dinner specials

• Favorite recipes you’re looking forward to cooking

• Scaled-down traditions

• Volunteer opportunities in the area

Sugar Land, Missouri City, and Stafford area residents – or people in and around the Upper Kirby, Montrose, and Museum District area

My mom got really into raising butterflies over the past few months and she has a group of caterpillars left but ran out of the milkweed plants that were growing in her yard. She has called half a dozen garden centers and everyone is out because it’s the end of the season.

Does anyone have this plant growing in or around their house and would be willing to let someone come over and strip the leaves? They have long stalks with little clusters of flowers at the top and can come in many different colors, although I’ve seen mostly orange around the area.
