Would you want the Spanish practice of siesta hours to be done in Houston?

I’m writing an article on the practice of siesta in Spain and if that’s something that could ever be done in American culture, such as in Houston. Siesta is essentially the daily lunch hour(s) most businesses and stores shut down operations for rest in certain parts of Europe. Directly translated, the term means an afternoon nap.

I’m interested in interviewing business owners or workers in Houston about how they feel about this lifestyle. Businesses typically close between 2 PM and 5 PM and then open until 8 PM. Would you prefer a work schedule of 9 – 5 or until 8 PM with 2 – 5 PM as personal time in between? You can email [jamie@jamievalentino.com](mailto:jamie@jamievalentino.com)

Looking to speak with mothers who’ve had abortions and how (or if) having children has affected their views

Hello,

I’m writing an article for the Houston Chronicle, and I would like to feature mothers sharing their experiences with past abortions and how motherhood has influenced how they reflect on their experiences now. I understand the 10K bounty and private nature of this, and I am only seeking those who’ve done it in the past / are not actively in need of one. This article is with the purpose of humanizing abortions and painting a more realistic picture of the situations that exist, as well that future motherhood doesn’t necessarily mean you will regret your decision.
