Adding a backyard shed in Timbergrove https://houstonnewmedia.org/adding-a-backyard-shed-in-timbergrove/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=adding-a-backyard-shed-in-timbergrove Thu, 23 Jun 2022 16:23:06 +0000 http://houstonnewmedia.org/?guid=5806073ba7221e41f203652e7cec0ead

I just closed on a new house in Timbergrove, and One of the things I liked about it was the 14x20 concrete pad is has behind the garage. I'd like to install a shed back there, but the deed restriction doc is kinda unclear on weather or not that constitutes submitting design plans. Part of me really doesnt want to piss off the new neighborhood, but part of me really just wants to get it knocked out and know that its all the way in the back of my property and no one will care.

Anyone on here have experience with dealing with Timbergrove DRC?

Question about bike locking/theft https://houstonnewmedia.org/question-about-bike-locking-theft/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=question-about-bike-locking-theft Tue, 02 Mar 2021 15:20:04 +0000 http://houstonnewmedia.org/?guid=11647927646d0dc0d05317764282522f

Hey guys, my fiance and I are moving to The Heights in a couple of weeks near TC Jester and I-10. We are both interested in keeping bikes around for some light duty coffee shop/bar strolls around the area. I've gotten us a couple of cheap bikes and set them up, but I'm dividing by 0 on the locking situation. I've over researched it now, and I'm finding most people recommend U-locks ~$100 like kryptonite. That's all fine and good, but knowing all locks can be broken, just a matter of how easy, what percentage of bike value should I consider spending on a lock?

These bikes we have were around $300 each. So not dirt cheap, but nothing like the multi thousand dollar rigs I see rolling around sometimes. I'm thinking the $100 u-lock is for people who own more valuable bikes, or lock up in public all day everyday? maybe I'm wrong?

TLDR: Bike value $300, location: Heights. What bike lock should I buy?

Looking for indoor/low sunligh activities in Midtown/Downtown, Memorial, etc. https://houstonnewmedia.org/looking-for-indoor-low-sunligh-activities-in-midtown-downtown-memorial-etc/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=looking-for-indoor-low-sunligh-activities-in-midtown-downtown-memorial-etc Mon, 03 Feb 2020 19:59:10 +0000 http://houstonnewmedia.org/?guid=174010003c0bb4eabf58f1c7a42bcffe

Hey guys, my girlfriend has had a health issue that has lead to a medication that requires her to be kept out of the sun for quite a while. We are pretty outdoorsy people, and she's a little bummed out. Can you help us think of fun stuff we can do in town? Something specific I've been trying to find is a cool live jazz bar or something like that. Also interested in just about anything ya'll come up with.

I know there's quite a bit, we are just curious to hear of any unique things r/houston may know about.

Thanks in advance!
