Me and my wife are flying in early next Thursday and will be in town until Monday for our 1 year anniversary.Neither of us have ever been to Texas, let alone Houston so I want to get a feel for what we can't miss while we're there. We're doing ok for ourselves but not setting the world on fire so we're trying to save money where we can too.

We're both big fans of art, both fine and local, I love anything everything space related, she loves anything and everything plant and animal related, and we're definitely big time foodies.

Everywhere I've been (KC, Memphis, the Carolinas, etc) that claims to have good BBQ falls short when compared to hole-in-the-wall BBQ joints in Alabama, I need restaurants in Houston that can dethrone Alabama as king of BBQ.

Also any tips for maneuvering around downtown would be greatly appreciated.
