i just noticed lotus gaming is closed south Houston-clear lake and Gerard's gaming went down during covid. also south houston - Webster area

i get these kinds of shops are a effort of love not necessarily profit but i've literally gone to both places several times tyring to get a dnd game night going with zero success. i've called, showed up in person, offered to dm for free, even posted on their facebook site. it is radio-silence. the question is where's the profit? well, face book ads/eyes maybe? dice, mini's, maps. tokens, food and drink?

trying to get a game going and all the effort of the shop is towards mtg and or Warhammer and the place goes down anyway. i don't pretend to be a successful businessperson . i would probably run a shop into the ground withing a month, but it's frustrating that i cant get a game going in a game store that theoretically is there for games to be for games?

RIP lotus and gareds

Fireflies? https://houstonnewmedia.org/fireflies/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=fireflies Fri, 11 Sep 2020 03:56:17 +0000 http://houstonnewmedia.org/?guid=b54fc9ae104c2e4e798cf73ce31ce7d8

i haven't seen them since i was a child, for some reason it just popped into my head like a minute ago. i googled local firefly maps and habitates and found someone looking for donations, but no maps as to where i could drive out and see some in nature say 1-2 hours from south-east houston.

anyone have any tips or recommendations?
