Have some questions for the gardeners in the group. My house has 4 trees in the backyard, creating all kinds of shade during the day. The only time I get a good 3-4 solid hours of sun is from 8am to noon in a corner then from 12-4 in another corner. I’ve planted tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce, kale, carrots, bell pepper, basil, cilantro, potatoes in said corners. The only thing that’s really growing is the lettuce varieties and potatoes of course. The others arent producing much of anything just leaves and some flowers every now and then. What vegetables can I grow with such little sun? Are those 4 hours enough for anything? Is this 90-100 degree temperatures too much for the plants? This is only my second season planting veggies and trying to learn what will and wont grow in this Houston heat in a mostly shade area. Thought I’d ask in the Houston page to see whats growing for you guys and what isn’t. And to see if anyone else is in a similar shaded situation trying to make the best of it.
