Read MoreSuppose we were soon to close on a home in the Houston area. This home is located on the corner of a somewhat busy street and a far less busy cross street. The previous owners have made some updates that included enclosing the garage to create more living space and adding a new front door on what was originally the side of the house. The original front door facing the busy street still exists but very much unused. We even plan on fencing in the former front yard to create a side yard for privacy and a minimal amount of street noise baffling.
Is it possible to get the address officially changed to a street number of the cross street? It’s not a huge deal breaker. We could easily get a mailbox installed on the fence, but things like Amazon packages pose a small problem. Obviously, updating shipping addresses to either mine or my wife’s office is a solution and it’s what we’ll do in the immediate future. Still, just wondering if anyone has ever done this and how laborious and obnoxious the process was?
