Read MoreThese rookies are developing into quite the tandem. Watching as much preseason and seasonal footage as I can, and it is pretty evident how promising these two are and what they can accomplish together as they continue to find out what works and what doesn’t.
Hairston ID’s good block candidates that allow Pierce to get really make his own yardage when they are on the field together. And from what Pierce has said about him and Hairston, he appreciates how detailed he is in making the right block – and Pierce taking advantage of those opportunities. I think this stems from the fact that he was a Defensive Linemen and college and can understand that side of the ball and which blocks to pickup that really hurt a defensive scheme against the run.
Although he wasn’t drafted by us during the official draft, I think Hairston needs to be included in the discussion of players/picks Caserio has nailed in 2022. I love having a FB/HB tandem that are growing together and sharing a rookie experience together. I think it is leading to something special.
