Major Oil and Gas Company asking me to Resign – what can I do?

Hey r/houston, I work at major oil and gas company in Houston Texas and they are asking me to resign instead of laying me off and i could use your advice. They changed the ranking system and found myself meeting face to face with management about “resigning”. I haven’t signed anything yet.

* I was asked to sign a document saying that I resigned (That they didn’t fire you, so I can’t sue them).

* I will get three months’ pay + benefits from the day I resign

* I also have to sign another document emphasizing that I quit, I can’t sue them and I can never be hired at this major oil and gas company ever again

* If I find a job before the 3 months of pay is over and tell them, they will stop all benefits including pay

I currently make $100K as a Scrum Master, no debt other than a new house, and have enough saved up to last me 6 Months. With the job options these days and the quarantine ordeal continuing for the near future….What are my options?
