I'm traveling to Houston for work in the next couple of months. I have a ritual when I travel: at night I like to go to a quiet bar that doesn't have that many people in it, drink cheap whiskey, and read a depressing book. It's a way for me to unwind after having to be around people all day that still gets me out of the hotel room.

I'll be in East Downtown. Are there any bars in easily uber-able distance that would be good for a quiet night of leave-me-alone vibes?
