Is the CSA Plant It Forward actually for a good cause?

I moved to Houston a couple months ago and I wanted to join a local CSA (community supported agriculture) farm-share. I love knowing I’m getting fresh produce from local sustainable farms. Plant It Forward sounds like an excellent option and one of their urban farms is super close to me. But I’m worried that it could be a kind of refugee exploitation situation akin to indentured servitude. Like I said, I’m new here and I don’t want to accidentally support something that isn’t all on the up-and-up and just puts on a good show.
