I'm new to Houston, and my wife's birthday is coming up in August. We have a lot to celebrate, and I'd like to take her for a long weekend to somewhere nice. She is a big fan of the Ocean, and I understand that Galveston is the go-to ocean spot around here.

Can anyone recommend a really nice, upscale resort in Galveston? Please let me know if my premise is wrong and I should be going somewhere else!
