Low appraisal advice
Hello Houston Redditors, Just putting a general question out there. My appraisal coming 50k under the asking price. I’m questioning the comparable homes used, an inaccurate measurement, missing car storage, and two missing rooms. Two of the comparable homes were either significantly less than the home I’m purchasing or older than 6 months. I’m not sure why the appraiser would pick them over a couple others that are around the market trend and are closer in size and price of the home I’m attempting to purchase. The price was appraised below the market trend. I’m appealing the appraisal with the lender. Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or pointer? Also if anyone is familiar with the appraisal process, can homes significantly below asking price be used, especially if there are so far below the current market trend? Thanks!
