In general Ive been loving all the changes they've been making at the park but this one seems unnecessary. Why de personalize Houston for no reason? I've always thought it was a cute little motivator and it's so low who was it really bothering

Virtually every Chinese bakery in Chinatown would carry this pastry in the 90s/00s. It was a relatively thin fried crunchy pastry covered in a sticky sugary coating. They used to be piled in large vats or fill an entire section of the display case at bakeries and they would all stick together and you'd have to get them with tongs and stuff them in a paper bag to take to check out. It was not fluffy on the inside or spongy or anything. And maybe they'd be around the size of a hand.

I just realized I haven't seen this sweet pastry thing in any Chinese bakery in maybe 15 years and they used to be popular and in pretty much any bakery in Chinatown. Does anyone know what this is called? I tried googling these key terms but all I get is like bread thats thick and fluffy or filled with something. Why does no one make it anymore?

Edit 3// lol so many edits. I am so invested. OK it is called 旦 散, Dàn sàn and maybe it's Cantonese? I still have no idea where to get them here. I've a bad feeling it was some trend and now they're all gone :/
