On the heels of the success with the post best beaches to cry at night, this format is back despite popular demand: I was wondering if y'all knew forests or other nice wooded areas where we are allowed to hike past sunset? I love going for walks in the wooded areas or forest but all the parks I know close at sunset. And right now most days are unpleasant to be out (beside, I don't have time with work etc.)

I am mainly worried about the legality of it more than anything, I don't plan on camping, hunting, starting fires, carrying alcohol etc. but I don't want to be caught trespassing and having legal troubles, I absolutely can't afford that, so again, parks with gates and signs are a no-go, even though those are usually my choices during the cooler months.
