Is there any PUBLIC houston discords? I’m not interested in the one that uses the official rhouston invite link because that one functions like a private discord. They really need to disconnect themselves from the idea that they are open to the public.

Very clique-y, members constantly asking “who are you?” in a hostile manner if you are new to the server. Might get a different response if I pretended to be a girl tbh because that’s the vibe I’m getting from the people in there. Moderators are not any better, at least 1/4 of them (the ones I’ve seen speak in the short time I was in there) have the same attitude as the unfriendly members but 10x worse. A lot of what I’ve seen posted by them would fit in r/iamverysmart.

I saw a lot of light bullying by some mods to normal members who seem to have been in the server for a while, but these members seems to have figured out that if they play along to the bullying and suck up to the staff, they won’t get kicked. Getting the vibe that some of the mods probably got rejected socially a couple times in their life, and have a sense of power in this server. That’s all fine and well, but they need to do that in a private server and distance themselves from the idea that this is THE DISCORD for Houston, so that they don’t subject unsuspecting new members to their ego.
