What to do with the Whistling Ducks & ducklings in my pool?

Any suggestions on who to contact to relocate the ducks and ducklings?

Around August 11, we discovered that a whistling duck had hatched 12 eggs in my backyard.

Adorable, I know. They’ve grown a lot in the last couple of weeks, and we’ve had fun watching them (and been bummed to not use the pool). But now they’re growing quite rapidly…and pooping a lot too. It’s time for them to move somewhere else. Except the ducklings can’t fly.

The adults most definitely roost in the trees in my neighborhood. We’re along Cypress Creek, kinda near Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve.

Support Space City Weather’s 2020 Fundraiser!

Hey, Houstonians! It’s time to support Space City Weather‘s no-hype site!

They’ve started their annual fundraiser, which is a good way to show how much you love their great weather forecasting. You can also show your support of Louisiana by buying a t-shirt or sweatshirt that says Texas stands with Louisiana after this cray cray hurricane season.

(PS: I don’t work for or with Matt and Eric. I don’t even know ’em. But I appreciate what they do.)
