I’m about to possibly purchase a house and would like your assistance on how best to do a ballpark very rough estimate on what it would cost to redo the plumbing of this house.
The house is west of Houston suburb area near Katy. It’s one story, 4 bed 2 bath. The house is 45 years old and has the original galvanized steel pipes still. Seller says the plumbing is OK. But I would feel better getting it redone right away before moving in.
Is there any chance to ballpark estimate how much it would be to redo all the plumbing and patch the walls back up? Will it be closer to $10,000 or $20,000?
I assume PEX is the fastest and cheapest. But with the building and supply market the way it is right now, I have no idea. I would like to avoid calling a plumber and wasting their time for something that may not happen and they can’t go see the house anyway to give an accurate estimate.
