Reggie Wayne was a finalist for the Hall of Fame this year, but did not get in. If you look at his career stats (1070 receptions, 14,345 receiving yards, 82 touchdowns), they’re very similar to our boy Andre’s, although Wayne was a fair bit higher in touchdowns (1062 receptions, 14,185 receiving yards, 70 touchdowns). It generally seems like guys who are finalists in their first year tend to get in, so I think Wayne will be fine. The questions for Andre is will the Hall of Fame reward him for putting up those numbers despite the terrible teams he had around him, or will he be overlooked because he wasn’t on any memorable teams? I don’t know the answer to those questions, maybe some of you who have followed the hall of fame more closely can answer that.
