As the title says my apartment is conducting a nearly week long fire alarm inspection. It seems to happen from about 9am-4pm every day. I understand that they need to be tested, but my alarm has been going off in my apartment for the last 4 days at random intervals and it is impossible to get any work done.

In reading around online it seemed like unit alarms should have been able to be tested and then muted for the rest of the testing throughout the facility. My apartment sent out an email that gave me the impression that I could clear out for one day and be done.

Have other renters dealt with a similar situation? I'm curious if this is just a standard thing that I'm not used to or if it's just a sloppy inspection company that's too lazy to mute unit alarms after they've been tested.
