My key takeaways:

• Sounds like all the various draft evaluations of Will Levis have been pretty spot on

• Will has a rail-gun for an arm with a short dart like throwing motion which translates well to the NFL because you want to be able to get throws off in a small space

• Very classic NFL measurables (size, weight) with decent mobility

• Played with lesser talent which makes evaluation a little bit more difficult

• But does have a few instances of very questionable decision making without pressure

Ultimately it'll come down to how scouts evaluate Will's ability to quicken his decision making/processing ability and general football intelligence to, let's say, close the gap of someone at CJ Stroud's level. If he can be coached to make better reads, his upside is very appealing. If we're going quarterback at 1.02 I'd rather have CJ Stroud, but if we take Will Anderson and look for a high ceiling guy at 1.12, I wouldn't be sad about taking Levis.

My key takeaways from the video are:

A) I can completely see why Josh McCown was on the short list for the coaching position at the Texans. I'm glad he's getting his feet wet as a QB coach first. I can see him having a DeMeco Ryan's like trajectory.

B) CJ Stroud has been lower on my QB's to take list - but this video has changed my mind a bit. He might not have the tremendous physical upside of other prospects or the intangibles of Bryce Young, but he certainly has enough of both to be a very good NFL quarterback.

It'll be interesting if we got a big armed quarterback who is more of a project.

It looked like to me that Nick was on the verge of tears - his voice got shaky and it kept on hitting a high inflection. Say what you want about Nick but it seems like at the very least he cares about his position and is humble enough to understand that he's not above his mistakes. Honestly I think he's the only bright spot for the Texans and I hope he gets the coaching candidate that he wants this time around.

Would you trade the first overall pick down to a team that's "A QB away" e.g. Seattle or Indy 3-6ish pick who's intent is to draft Bryce Young? If so, what would you want/expect in return?

I would love to get a first this year in the 3-6 range, 2024 first and two second round picks for the trade down. The Texans would net another first next year and build depth this year in the second round and still get a top edge or OL player at the top of this draft.

For reference, here is a list of all trades up for QBs and what it cost the teams trading up.

1) Dude is a very likable guy. He just comes across as a very genuine and kind individual in this interview. Willing to answer questions, very positive about teammates and overall has great positive vibes.

2) I didn't know he was coming off an Achilles injury. That provides a lot of context as to why he had such a drop off from prospect to bouncing from team to team. Thankfully he wasn't overutilized in Buffalo which gave him that year to recover well.

3) Nick C. He did a phenomenal job in attracting OJ to Houston. We finally have a potentially elite TE and got him for nothing. This also can create space for the rest of the offense elevating everyone's performances.

Britain Covey went undrafted and is a prototypical shifty slot receiver and return man standout from Utah. 3× First-team all American.

His highlight reel does nothing but show home run play potential.

If the Eagles cut him we should be very proactive about scooping this guy up considering that we have no real clear WR 3.

Between Brandin Cooks taking up a lot of the defenses attention and Nico Collins being a big body target, a small shifty and explosive player would really round out the receivers room and pose a more complex challenge for the opposing defense to figure out. It'll compliment the two TE sets we'll run to add another wrinkle to the offense. Worst case scenario we have someone who can return kicks.

As the title suggests, are there any late round draft picks that you guys are hoping that the Texans snag? In procrastinating for studying for a job interview, I have been looking at all the draft prospects the Texans can pickup and always find the potential late round contributors more interesting than endlessly discussing who we are getting with our our top two picks.

For me it is Armani Rogers (Ohio, QB -> TE [athlete], 6'5" 225lbs). Apart from being able to make an immediate impact on special teams and securing a spot there due to his size, speed (4.5ish 40), hands, and overall athleticism, Armani shows tremendous upside as a potential TE/WR and gadget player having shown, in limited reps receiving the ball, a natural feel for the position (as is discussed in Brett Kollman's TE video linked above). Additionally, he can be lined up as a TE/WR and be used in trick plays due to his QB background. Blue Chip Scouting also has a good breakdown on Armani's rout running. Emmet Jackson does a great job highlighting Armani's potential as a route runner - especially considering has never played the position in game. Additionally, if by some disaster we get down into the QB3-4 situation due to injury, etc., he can function as a serviceable emergency backup without having to take up an additional roster spot as only as QB.

Again, this is a project player that can be taken in the late rounds who has breakout superstar potential - which is what I would be looking for in the late rounds.
