ENT that accept AmBetter Insurance?

Not sure if I’ll get much traction on this post but I’m searching for an ENT that can help me with some ear problems. I’ve had an ear infection since Sept. 2nd. I’ve been treated with 5 medications now. The first 3 weren’t even for what I had.

Teledoc said it was swimmer’s ear, but to have a PCP check, so I understand that one since they couldn’t see my ear at all. Ear drop antibiotics.

PCP said it was just a typical ear infection, 2 different oral antibiotics.

Now I’ve been going to an ENT in Spring and they’re saying it’s a fungal ear infection. Gave me Acetic Acid ear drops, which damn near killed me because no one knew I had a perforated eardrum. Now I’m on Ciprodex which doesn’t seem to be doing anything either and after reading it’s not even for fungal ear infections, only bacterial.

I had about a week and a half of no pain this past week and 2 days ago the pain has came back. (After starting the new Ciprodex antibiotic ear drops)I keep hearing a clicking sound when it starts draining that just is discomforting. I’m worried about the duration of this really affecting my hearing.

I have another appt with the original ENT I’ve been going to today, I wanted them to check my ear because of the pain and maybe if they need to, to suction out whatever they can.

But I’m kind of wanting to get a 2nd opinion about this. I’ve already been misdiagnosed twice – not including the many other times I’ve been misdiagnosed for other medical issues in my life.

I’m irritated from this, tired because I can’t sleep because of the pain now, worried that I’m going to lose my hearing, frustrated because I can barely take a shower anymore because of fear of getting water in my ears. We’re getting close to a month with an ear infection and I’m sure NOBODY wants to deal with that.

Edit – and yes, I’ve used the insurance’s website to look at providers. None of them are either accepting new patients, accepting the insurance anymore or are booked until February or later. I found this place on a whim when I called around.

Furniture flipping? Where to look?

So this is something I’ve been partially doing for a while but also having a lot of issues.

In the past, maybe 6 months I’ve managed to flip 3 pieces of furniture. Basically using FB Marketplace/CL and looking for ran down, cheap/free or just not the best looking pieces and refinishing them to make them have new life. I’m really proud of what I’ve done and no counting materials I’ve had to buy to start, I’ve probably profited a couple $100 from it.

The issue is, now I have a little spare money and want to actively pick back up on it again but I just can’t catch a break. FB Marketplace is littered with people thinking their chipped up nightstand from the 80s is worth $100 or their terrible condition china cabinet is an antique that they want $500. CL is full of scammers, non-responders or just people who again, want too much money for what they have.

OfferUp is okay, but a lot of dead listings where they have it posted but no longer have the item or non-responders. Honestly I think OU is the worst I’ve used for hunting.

Goodwill/ReStore is a HUGE hit/miss, but mostly a miss for me.

I’ve even drove around neighborhoods trying to find things people curbed and it’s a huge toss up that waste more gas than it’s worth. Did manage to get a nice working Kitcheaid oven that someone trashed that needs a new grate that I’m considering testing some more and just keeping.

I’m really trying here. But is there somewhere or some app I’m missing where I might find stuff like I’m looking for?

Car insurance?

I’m shopping for insurance. I feel like my rate is a little high.

30F, never even been stopped for anything, no tickets/no wrecks. I currently pay around $128 for full coverage through progressive using my parents address out in New Waverly for my 2012 Fiesta. It’s not an expensive car by any means and with it getting up there in the miles (100k) it’s been needing high dollar maintenance lately and I’m looking to cut down on bills.

At this point I’m willing to go just liability but all the quotes I’ve gotten so far still have me between $80-100/month.

Any suggestions? I shopped for insurance around 6 months ago and I STILL get calls trying to sell it to me so I don’t want to go around putting my info in and getting spammed with calls again.

DIY shops in the area where I could do projects or use something like a CNC machine, or anything like that?

I know there’s a name for these kinds of places, I’m just completely blanking on what they’re called at the moment.

I found MakerBarn in Magnolia, but that’s sort of a drive.

There are a few projects I’d like to look into making but a lot of it requires a fair amount of equipment to do them efficiently, and honestly I have the money for the project itself but not the equipment.

Speficially, I’d like to find somewhere I can use a CNC machine for a few woodworking projects and a drill press. But that’s just for what I want to do currently. I’m sure once I found somewhere and had the access to the tools I’d be more than happy to create more stuff and possibly even flip them for money to own my own tools.

I’m sure there’s somewhere I could do this stuff at, but I just don’t know where to look.

I live in around Northside or Central Northwest Houston, which is a pretty industrial area where I am so I’d be surprised if there wasn’t something just down the road from me.

Residential trash pick up options for someone who no one will service?

So I live within a warehouse community, think luxury garages. Some people run businesses out of their’s while others just live in their’s. I am zoned in Commercial/Residential and I rent.

I’ve been off and on trying to get my trash picked up by someone for months.

Waste Management and…whoever the blue one is(can’t remember the name) offers me a dumpster for $300-400/month, totally not worth it for someone who literally has maybe a bag of trash a week.

City of Houston wants a water bill, BUT my landlord has a single water bill for the entire complex and won’t provide me with the account number. Water is included with my rent.

I’m at a loss. I have dogs, so I pick up their waste and put it in a trash bag outside. Around that smells like death. Neighbor has a dumpster, which the day before they have it dumped I might go throw 1 bag of trash in if it has the room(like once a month), but the last time I did it they laid the bag in the middle of the parking lot and left it there. So I just refuse to even do that again and I know it was scummy. I work from home, so it’s not like I can take it to work and dump it. Occasionally I’ll go take a bag behind a store and put it in their dumpster the night before pick up, but I have a car and really don’t want trash juice in it.

No trash pick up company seems to want to help me unless I pay for a dumpster, and I really don’t have the room for a dumpster here, nor the funds.

Has anyone dealt with this before and figured out a solution?

Cheapest place to rent a car for atleast a month?

My car is having some issues, needs the timing chain done and the cover replaced. At the moment I’m being told by multiple places I would be without my car for 4-8 weeks once I bring it in. I need a vehicle. Currently I can drive mine, as I did from Conroe to Houston to bring it home – but I’m scared to, what if something happens? I have the place I had my car fixed at ordering the part and they told me that I can drive it with no issues, but with that cover busted any little thing could ruin my engine. I have Midas in Conroe with the part ordered, called dealerships today to see if anyone could get it faster but they’re all saying 6-8 weeks.

I looked around online but everywhere has cars anywhere from 1500-1700 for the cheapest option for a monthly rental – that’s over 10 times the amount I pay for my car monthly and I barely even make that a month, sometimes I don’t even hit that much.

Does anyone know of the cheaper places to rent from?
