Many years ago when I thought I'd grow up to become a professional actor, I thought I learned Alley Theatre was the only professional company in Houston. If TUTS is professional, when did it become so?

I have been called for jury duty at Houston Municipal Court in a few weeks. I have been before, but it has been years, so I have a couple of questions.

1. Is there anyplace to eat in walking distance, or should I plan on brown-bagging it? I remember not even being called back until after lunch.
2. I know that you park in Lot H (which I did last time.), but would the Addicks Park & Ride also work? I used that when I got called for Harris County before COVID, and I don't mind walking. And do they still have a midday outbound route, or did that go away with COVID? Looking at their schedule online, I don't see any midday route times if I get dismissed before 2:30

I know this is traffic court, so I'm not worried about how long the actual jury duty itself. The getting there, though. I can count on one hand the number of times I've driven inside the loop in the past year, so that's what I want to have a plan for.

I have been listening to the Alvin Community College radio station since I discovered it several years ago. It is the last great broadcast music station in the Houston area. Over the past several more months I have noticed changes, some small and some larger. First, it used to brand itself as the Gulf Coast Rocker, but i am hearing more 90s and older country and pop. Recently their dedicated web page expired, and they are now streamed directly through the ACC communications dept web page or their app. Before Thanksgiving, their radio broadcast signal was down for several days. Their Facebook page now seems totally dormant. And I don't think I've been hearing as many arudent DJs. Wondering if any other Houston redditors have noticed the same and/or know if something's going on. I'd hate to lose college radio in Houston

You know what I'm talking about, when you're in the left turn lane and the car to the right of you turns on the left turn signal even though it's not an option in that lane. Is this a Houston thing, or is it something the newcomers have brought with them. I see it at least one once a week, usually on Westheimer or 6. Not surprising seeing as how those are arguably the two busiest streets in town. It drives me nuts! I have to fight the urge to honk.
