tree roach was in my bed this morning — please help !!!
This has always been one of my greatest fears, and it finally happened. I woke up to a giant ass tree roach scurrying across me while I was asleep in bed. So obviously I ran off screaming, had a panic attack, and was unable to find the damn thing when I came back into my room.
How the hell can I lure it out and how can I prevent something like this from happening in the future??? (By the way I am living in a standalone house, not an apartment)
I honestly feel like I can’t even sleep in my room anymore. I’m about to wash all my sheets and pillows because I’m so disgusted. I can’t even think about it without hyperventilating. I’ve seen these damn roaches occasionally in my garden or in the attic, but they’re usually dead at that point. The only other time I’ve seen one alive was in my shower peering down at me from where it was sitting on the showerhead. That incident traumatized me so badly that I keep the drains plugged all the time, check all the corners of a room when I walk in, and nothing like that has happened since.
But now I saw one alive in my bedroom and that’s too far. We have sticky traps in the attic that help and catch a lot of them, but my room and bathroom are next to the attic and I’m pretty sure that’s why I’m the one that always finds them. We do have a yearly exterminator, but I feel like that’s not enough. The roaches are also probably trying to come inside because of the stupid heatwave and drought that Houston is currently dealing with.
What can I put in my room and the attic to keep those nasty ass things away from me? Having one crawl over me was just too fucking much. I’ve wasted the entire day digging around upstairs trying to vacuum up the damn roach if I find it. This probably sounds so silly, but I bet there are some other Texans that can relate to my roach phobia and feel like they can’t relax if there’s a hidden roach in their home. So please leave advice and help me!!!!
