SOLVED. see below if you like pictures of shipyards.

Todd Shipyards built a large yard on the irish bend island during WW2. it is supposed to be just southwest of the spot where green's bayou flows into buffalo bayou (i.e. south of buffalo), but i can't find the exact spot or confirmation (something citable).
