I'm looking to rent an apartment in Houston (I work downtown), and I'm now too old for midtown and too childless for the burbs.

I was hoping people here can offer up some suggestions on places to rent where I might find more people that share my kind of life (low-key enjoyment of arts and culture, maybe parks, night life not so important but a beer garden... You get the idea)
