The Texans are the best 1-5 team in the history of 1-5 teams.
If I was better at display data and other things, I think I could make this argument more convincing. Anyways, here’s some stats.
Teams the Texans have played so far and lost to:
Cheifs, Ravens, Steelers, Vikings, Titans
Their combined win percentage: .766
Their average (as of week 7) power ranking (per nfl.com): 7.4
Teams the Texans have yet to play:
Packers, Jaguars, Browns, Patriots, Lions, Colts, Bears, Colts, Bengals, Titans
Their combined win percentage: .585
Their average (as of week 7) power rankings (per nfl.com): 16.1

If you eliminate that outlier loss against the vikings (sad fase), their win percentage and average ranking turns into .915 and 2.5, respectively. These between those 4 teams, there have been 2 losses. Only one has not come from an attrition loss between these teams.

I am data snooping for sure, but I still think this could be the best 1-5 team around. I didn’t sign up to be a 13-3 team bred for the AFC championship. Mark my words though, we’re going 8-8 or 9-7 and we’ll be seeing steelers/raiders/chiefs in the first round. Our team has got this, and they have a reserved spot against any spread in my football pick ’em from this point out. Go xans
