Hello,

I am exploring job opportunities and the Houston area is one of my top 3 choices to move to in the States. A little background: I'll be 25 years old working as an accountant / CPA

But, I had a few questions:

  1. My salary would likely be somewhere around $80k USD, initially I'd be looking to rent in the downtown/main area of the city (1 br condo or something). How much should I expect to pay monthly in rent?

  2. What's the safest areas/neighborhoods downtown?

  3. Is $80k salary considered adequate for 1 person in Houston? Whats the cost of groceries/living like?

  4. If my employer doesn't provide health insurance, how much normally is that per month?

  5. What is the racism like towards those of East Indian/Sikh descent? Is there a large Sikh community?

  6. What's the best area to live for someone whos 25 + single?
