Some general Houston questions from a Canadian

I am exploring job opportunities and the Houston area is one of my top 3 choices to move to in the States. A little background: I’ll be 25 years old working as an accountant / CPA
But, I had a few questions:

My salary would likely be somewhere around $80k USD, initially I’d be looking to rent in the downtown/main area of the city (1 br condo or something). How much should I expect to pay monthly in rent?

Is $80k salary considered adequate for 1 person in Houston? Whats the cost of groceries/living like?
