A closer look at why the 49ers are giving up so many points

The 49ers offense is notoriously awful at not turning the ball over. They’re constantly putting Saleh’s defense in difficult positions.

Eagles- allowed 25 points- offense had 4 turnovers: 1 TOD, 1 fumble, 2 INT(one pick-six).

Points off turnovers- 14

Dolphins- allowed 43 points- offense had 5 turnovers: 2 TOD, 1 fumble, 2 INT’s

Points off turnovers- 16

Seahawks- allowed 37 points- offense had 2 turnovers: 1 fumble, 1 INT

Points off turnovers- 14

Packers: allowed 34 points- offense had 3 turnovers: 1 TOD, 1 fumble, 1 INT

Points off turnovers- 13

Saints- 27 points allowed- offense had 5 turnovers: 1 TOD, 2 fumbles, 2 INT’s

Points off turnovers- 14

Bills- 34 points allowed- offense had 3 turnovers: 1 TOD, 2 INT

Points off turnovers- 3

Washington football team- 23 points allowed- offense had 4 turnovers: 1 TOD, 2 fumbles, 1 INT

Points off turnovers- 17(1 pick-six, 1 fumble return touchdown)

Cowboys- 41 points allowed- offense had 4 turnovers: 2 fumbles, 2 INT’s

Points of turnovers/special teams- 24/7. 31 total.

Other games:

Week 1 vs. Cardinals- 24 points allowed, 7 points off 2 turnovers

Jets- 13 points allowed, 3 off of 1 turnover

Giants- 9 points allowed, no turnovers

Rams week 6- 16 points allowed, no turnovers

Pats- 6 points allowed, 3 points off 2 turnovers

Rams week 12- 20 points allowed, 10 points off 3 turnovers(1 fumble return)

Cardinals week 16- 12 points allowed, no points off 1 turnover

It seems as long as the 49ers don’t turn the ball over several times, the defense does pretty damn well.

Who are y’alls top 3 HC candidates and why?

Did this a little over a month ago. Interested to see how people’s minds have changed or not, mine did drastically.

  1. Robert Saleh- I’ll admit, I was wrong about Saleh. I thought he was a product of all the talent he had, but the things he’s been able to do with a rag tag team of backups + an offense that turns the ball over 2+ times a game and can’t stay on the field is incredible. He far and away has the best staff of any candidate. D4 would have to adapt to a west coast style though.

  2. Brian daboll- the job he and Ken dorsey did with Josh Allen is incredible. Their style of offense fits D4 and our personnel perfectly and their still putting up numbers against good defenses without a great run game. Has several options for DC from time with new England and Buffalo. Only problem is it seems he has a good relationship with Easterby

  3. Eric bienemy- offense fits D4’s style, can bring a solid staff with him. Darrell bevell(interim HC for lions) and Karl Dunbar for DC(D-line coach from steelers) has had success everywhere he’s gone. The guys he’s helped coach is insane. Just not 100% sold on bienemy, but reid, mahomes and others have all given him endorsements and the amount of work he puts in is crazy.
