I am deciding between renting a house and an apartment...I have the funds to get a house but everything in the loop is built in like the 1930s. I'm worried about dealing with broken a/c, roof leaks, etc in such an old house. I know the landlord would be responsible but it's still a damn headache. Anyone have any experience with this and have any insight?

I know almost all apartments allow dogs but I'm wondering if there are any that are really good about having walkable areas for the dog nearby or maybe a dog park on site at the apartment?

I'd be looking for a first floor unit so if anyone knows of anything that opens up to a common green space that would be fantastic as well.

Mainly looking at Heights, Montrose, Museum District, and near the Galleria but open to anything on the west side of the loop. Not worried about price too much.
