Can I raise 1~2 chicken in my back yard(The Woodlands)

Backyard is around 2500 SQFT

Ive always wanted to raise Chicken in my backyard as a pet(black australorp chickens)

Planning to get 1~2

As I did some research, I saw SB 1620 could have allowed Texans to raise six or fewer chickens in their backyard. The revised ordinance states residents may keep no more than six hens, and coops must be maintained at least 20 feet from neighboring residences and at least 10 feet from the owner’s residence.

Just wanted to double check if I’m against any laws. Im not getting a rooster by the way.

Thanks in advance

Houston housing increasingly unaffordable, researchers say

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ie8xSbrsOPs

Honestly I do enjoy property value going up. I have 1 house in Houston, 2 houses in states.

But Really, I don’t like Assessment value going up so much.

Everyone I know have their property tax assessment value risen up 10% with homestead,

Without homestead it’s more like 36%~60% increase 2022.

Not only that. Your insurance rate goes up to. My home doesn’t need 700K to rebuild.

That is just rediculous. Since Houston tax rate is pretty high already 1.8%+ MUD, median tax is

around 2.3%. I know, some OLD neighbors don’t pay MUD. Most of the places without MUD is a

rural area with no development.

I’ve seen some people with fixed income get into trouble because of their property tax raise

as well as insurance rate. Not everony can afford all those extra costs like me.

If they are raising assessment in the times like these, they should lower the tax rate.

I hope they are not having a party with increased tax revenues.
